We gathered with our goddaughter and her parents for another Cambrian Thanksgiving. We were delighted to find this spacious and comfortable spot in a great location, a quiet neighborhood close to the Fiscalini Preserve and a short drive to down. From the living room windows we spotted whales spouting in the ocean and deer grazing across the street. We had everything we needed for cooking meals and baking. Our goddaughter enjoyed a hot tub every morning, and we enjoyed the ambiance, perfect for reading, talking, and doing crafts.The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms well provided (but be sure to bring your own shampoo and conditioner). The transaction with Breen Vacation Station was friendly and seamless. We highly recommend this lovely home and hope to return again soon!

The highlight of this experience was how wonderful the Breen staff was. The reason we were coming to Cambria was to participate in The Castle to Coast Run. When the original date in January was canceled (days away due to weather) I was expecting the worst. The staff contacted the owners and made all the arrangements to switch our weekend. It was nice that someone still cares about the customer! The home was super clean and even better than the pictures. It was a perfect girls get away, running weekend home! Let’s not forget about the ocean view! It was lovely!

Myself and 3 of my friends enjoyed our stay at Cambria Escape. We brought bicycles and rode up Hwy 1 to Hearst Castle one day and on our way home we parked at Tobin James rode bikes to Sculpterra and then looped back to Tobin. We enjoyed walking in Petcelini open space. Kitchen was well equipped and we ate good meals while there. We could not get the cable channels working, but maybe the cable was canceled. We did watch a little Netflix.

My brothers and sisters gathered in Cambria for a couple of days for a family gathering. The location of the house is perfect with a beautiful view, and it is only a short walk to the shore. The amenities for the home left nothing to be desired. If you have several couples, however, balancing the rooms/bathrooms might be a challenge.

We spent 4 nights exploring the central coast from our rental in Cambria. Just blocks from the ocean and the Ranch we were able to go for family walks daily, explore Cambria, San Simeon, Morrow Bay, Montana de Oro state park and so much more. Cambria Escape house was clean, spacious and well appointed for home cooked meals. The front lanai was perfect for sunsets and the hot tub was perfect for star gazing.

We had a wonderful time at this lovely home. It had everything we needed for a relaxing stay, including a jacuzzi and BBQ grill. It also has a spacious dining table that seats 8. I liked how each of the rooms had a balcony or patio to step outside to take in the fresh air. At night, you can hear the ocean. It is within walking distance of the beach and the beautiful Fiscalini Ranch Preserve, which is an absolute must to visit! I would stay here again.

A much needed family getaway after over a year of the pandemic lock down. This home has breathtaking ocean views from the living room, kitchen, bedroom and patio.We especially enjoyed our early morning walks to nearby Fiscalini Ranch Preserve took off our mask and took in the fresh crisp sweet air, so invigorating.The kids enjoyed soaking in the back patio spa, and we enjoyed a bottle of wine sitting on the front patio looking out at the georgeous ocean and sunset views.The home is distributed perfectly to accomodate 2 families without feeling squeezed. 3 bathrooms yay!

We had a perfect stay for my senior dad’s birthday! Home was spacious enough for 6 adults and 2 kids. We didn’t use the kitchen, but it was well stocked. Loved the jacuzzi after a long active day. Beds were comfy and cozy. Very well kept home. Didn’t want to leave!

We rented this home to attend our son's wedding at Camp Ocean Pines. The home is one mile from that venue, very convenient. There is a lovely beach park that's an 8 minute walk away. The home is clean, comfortable, and Breen staff are helpful & kind. We appreciated the bottle of wine. I agree with another comment that the stairs may be a barrier for those with mobility issues. It was fine for us, though. Great place!

We love Cambria, it is our happy place. We have been renting beach houses here for 20 years. This was by far the nicest house we have ever stayed in. The location is excellent, the neighborhood is quiet and restful. You are close to town but not to close. The house is clean and well stocked. We love having our morning coffee and evening wine and cheese on the front deck looking at the view. We enjoyed watching the stars from the hit tub every night. We will be back!!!

Family Wedding Cambria Escape

My family and I rented Cambria Escape for a family wedding at Swallow Creek Ranch. It was a beautiful property, very clean, looks like it was just remodeled. My only concern was the sofa's we a bit warn/old, it was hard to get up after sitting. The windows in the living room didn't have blinds so when the sun set it was hard to watch TV. The hot tub was a bonus that my husband loved for his bad back. Overall my family enjoyed the location close to the beach and the quite neighborhood. If you have elderly family or ones with back knees or back the main floor is on the 2nd level with about 20 stairs from the garage. Garage level has a full bath with 2 bedrooms.

We rented the Cambria Escape for 5 nights/6 days. We had the best time. The house was well maintained, comfortable and located close to Fiscallini Preserve, the beach, Cambria shopping area and fairly close to Moonstone Beach. It was fully equipped with everything we needed. The management company was easy to deal with and very responsive. We have already discussed re-renting the same house again next year. Overall, had a wonderful time. The location is stunning, house is spacious, beds were comfortable. Great fit for our group.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the check-in process was so cumbersome and antiquated. It was a bit strange to have book through VRBO, but then be forced to visit an in-person office twice to get access to the house (once after-hours to get the keys, then once again the next day to sign a paper(!) contract). We also were only given one set of keys, and when we accidentally locked ourselves out, had to go back to the office to get a second pair. This was impractical for a group of 3 couples and a bit frustrating. I'd recommend switching/upgrading to (a) a lockbox outside the home for the keys and (b) a digital process for check-in and contract signing.

We enjoyed our stay. It was quiet and relaxing. We had an ocean view, saw deer every day, and enjoyed walking around the neighborhood. The washer was broken which was very disappointing since this is one reason we book a home, but the cleaning crew found a work around which we REALLY appreciated! It would have been extremely disappointing otherwise since even though there were plenty of towels, I'm not sure they would have lasted without the washer, as we stayed 7 days. The jacuzzi tub was a major consideration for staying there and was a big hit after spending the day hiking. I would stay again.

It was an amazing stay. We were so close to the beach and had everything we needed at the house. There were dining and shops nearby, however we never had a need to go. The grocery store is also very close. We decided to do more outdoor activities like walking, hiking, and simply enjoying nature. My kids enjoyed the deer in the neighborhood. We also drove up the coast to view the elephant sea lions and got a glimpse of the zebra on the Hearst property along the way.

The property had a beautiful view of the ocean. I loved how all of the bedrooms had access to the outside.Living room was pleasant to sit and enjoy the view, the large dining area made it a perfect spot for an elaborate birthday dinner we planned out. Property was very updated and clean. Favorite feature was the hot tub!

This is a quiet, well-appointed home away from the relative crowd of downtown Cambria. If you're looking to be in a quiet residential neighborhood, a couple of blocks from the ocean and a nature preserve, this is a good choice. Restaurants, shopping, etc. are all a bit of a drive away.

I stay in Cambria for 2 nites with 3 friends. We enjoyed bicycling up to the elephant seals in highway 1. Lunch at linns and dinner at Robins. We loved the open space for walking along the coast line, and the ride pools only blocks away from the house. Hot tub was a nice way to end the day. Clean and comfortable accomodations.

We were a group of 7 adults and the house was just the right size. The location and the view were excellent. The house had a well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, and plenty of soft, thick towels. Of course the spa was relaxing. There were little extras that made our stay more comfortable like the Brita water pitcher and night lights. A wonderful place to stay.

We gathered with our goddaughter and her parents for another Cambrian Thanksgiving. We were delighted to find this spacious and comfortable spot in a great location, a quiet neighborhood close to the Fiscalini Preserve and a short drive to down. From the living room windows we spotted whales spouting in the ocean and deer grazing across the street. We had everything we needed for cooking meals and baking. Our goddaughter enjoyed a hot tub every morning, and we enjoyed the ambiance, perfect for reading, talking, and doing crafts.The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms well provided (but be sure to bring your own shampoo and conditioner). The transaction with Breen Vacation Station was friendly and seamless. We highly recommend this lovely home and hope to return again soon!

My brothers and sisters gathered in Cambria for a couple of days for a family gathering. The location of the house is perfect with a beautiful view, and it is only a short walk to the shore. The amenities for the home left nothing to be desired. If you have several couples, however, balancing the rooms/bathrooms might be a challenge.

Myself and 3 of my friends enjoyed our stay at Cambria Escape. We brought bicycles and rode up Hwy 1 to Hearst Castle one day and on our way home we parked at Tobin James rode bikes to Sculpterra and then looped back to Tobin. We enjoyed walking in Petcelini open space. Kitchen was well equipped and we ate good meals while there. We could not get the cable channels working, but maybe the cable was canceled. We did watch a little Netflix.

This is our 2nd time staying at this house and we really enjoy it, especially the views and the hot tub. One downfall is that the King bed in the master bedroom seems old and sags in a lot near the head of the bed which always gives me bad heartburn, especially with all the wine tasting nearby. :) Other than that it is a great place for a big family.

The highlight of this experience was how wonderful the Breen staff was. The reason we were coming to Cambria was to participate in The Castle to Coast Run. When the original date in January was canceled (days away due to weather) I was expecting the worst. The staff contacted the owners and made all the arrangements to switch our weekend. It was nice that someone still cares about the customer! The home was super clean and even better than the pictures. It was a perfect girls get away, running weekend home! Let’s not forget about the ocean view! It was lovely!

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the check-in process was so cumbersome and antiquated. It was a bit strange to have book through VRBO, but then be forced to visit an in-person office twice to get access to the house (once after-hours to get the keys, then once again the next day to sign a paper(!) contract). We also were only given one set of keys, and when we accidentally locked ourselves out, had to go back to the office to get a second pair. This was impractical for a group of 3 couples and a bit frustrating. I'd recommend switching/upgrading to (a) a lockbox outside the home for the keys and (b) a digital process for check-in and contract signing.

My family and I rented Cambria Escape for a family wedding at Swallow Creek Ranch. It was a beautiful property, very clean, looks like it was just remodeled. My only concern was the sofa's we a bit warn/old, it was hard to get up after sitting. The windows in the living room didn't have blinds so when the sun set it was hard to watch TV. The hot tub was a bonus that my husband loved for his bad back. Overall my family enjoyed the location close to the beach and the quite neighborhood. If you have elderly family or ones with back knees or back the main floor is on the 2nd level with about 20 stairs from the garage. Garage level has a full bath with 2 bedrooms.

We rented the Cambria Escape for 5 nights/6 days. We had the best time. The house was well maintained, comfortable and located close to Fiscallini Preserve, the beach, Cambria shopping area and fairly close to Moonstone Beach. It was fully equipped with everything we needed. The management company was easy to deal with and very responsive. We have already discussed re-renting the same house again next year. Thank you Breen Vacation for allowing us to have a senational Sister's trip.

We rented this home to attend our son's wedding at Camp Ocean Pines. The home is one mile from that venue, very convenient. There is a lovely beach park that's an 8 minute walk away. The home is clean, comfortable, and Breen staff are helpful & kind. We appreciated the bottle of wine. I agree with another comment that the stairs may be a barrier for those with mobility issues. It was fine for us, though. Great place!

We love Cambria, it is our happy place. We have been renting beach houses here for 20 years. This was by far the nicest house we have ever stayed in. We had a perfect stay for my senior dad’s birthday! Home was spacious enough for 6 adults and 2 kids. We didn’t use the kitchen, but it was well stocked. Loved the jacuzzi after a long active day. Beds were comfy and cozy. Very well kept home. Didn’t want to leave!

We enjoyed our time at the Cambria Escape house. The house was comfortable and well stocked with anything you might want. The kitchen in particular had anything you could think of. Beds very comfortable. Also, the ocean views were spectacular. The carpets and some of the furnishings were a little worn, but everything was clean and in working condition.

A much needed family getaway after over a year of the pandemic lock down. This home has breathtaking ocean views from the living room, kitchen, bedroom and patio.We especially enjoyed our early morning walks to nearby Fiscalini Ranch Preserve took off our mask and took in the fresh crisp sweet air, so invigorating.The kids enjoyed soaking in the back patio spa, and we enjoyed a bottle of wine sitting on the front patio looking out at the georgeous ocean and sunset views.The home is distributed perfectly to accomodate 2 families without feeling squeezed. 3 bathrooms yay!

We had a wonderful time at this lovely home. It had everything we needed for a relaxing stay, including a jacuzzi and BBQ grill. It also has a spacious dining table that seats 8. I liked how each of the rooms had a balcony or patio to step outside to take in the fresh air. At night, you can hear the ocean. It is within walking distance of the beach and the beautiful Fiscalini Ranch Preserve, which is an absolute must to visit! I would stay here again.

We spent 4 nights exploring the central coast from our rental in Cambria. Just blocks from the ocean and the Ranch we were able to go for family walks daily, explore Cambria, San Simeon, Morrow Bay, Montana de Oro state park and so much more. Cambria Escape house was clean, spacious and well appointed for home cooked meals. The front lanai was perfect for sunsets and the hot tub was perfect for star gazing.

We were a group of 7 adults and the house was just the right size. The location and the view were excellent. The house had a well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, and plenty of soft, thick towels. Of course the spa was relaxing. There were little extras that made our stay more comfortable like the Brita water pitcher and night lights. A wonderful place to stay.

I stay in Cambria for 2 nites with 3 friends. We enjoyed bicycling up to the elephant seals in highway 1. Lunch at linns and dinner at Robins. We loved the open space for walking along the coast line, and the ride pools only blocks away from the house. Hot tub was a nice way to end the day. Clean and comfortable accomodations.

This is a quiet, well-appointed home away from the relative crowd of downtown Cambria. If you're looking to be in a quiet residential neighborhood, a couple of blocks from the ocean and a nature preserve, this is a good choice. Restaurants, shopping, etc. are all a bit of a drive away.

This was a very nice vacation home. It accommodated our family perfectly with all the beds and bathrooms. Very clean. The view was spectacular.The only downside was ants in the kitchen and master bath butnothing that a can of spray didnt clear up. That in itself is pretty common

The washer was broken which was very disappointing since this is one reason we book a home, but the cleaning crew found a work around which we REALLY appreciated! It would have been extremely disappointing otherwise since even though there were plenty of towels, I'm not sure they would have lasted without the washer, as we stayed 7 days. The jacuzzi tub was a major consideration for staying there and was a big hit after spending the day hiking. I would stay again.

It was an amazing stay. We were so close to the beach and had everything we needed at the house. There were dining and shops nearby, however we never had a need to go. The grocery store is also very close. We decided to do more outdoor activities like walking, hiking, and simply enjoying nature. My kids enjoyed the deer in the neighborhood. We also drove up the coast to view the elephant sea lions and got a glimpse of the zebra on the Hearst property along the way.

My neice and I had a lovely stay at Capercallie Cottage. The property was as described, clean, quiet and well maintained. The neighborhood is beautiful. The beds were excellent. The view from the upstairs deck, which is accesible from the living area or the upstairs bedroom, is amazing and we enjoyed being there. The downstairs bedroom has a deck too. The area is pretty hilly and the driveway is indeed steep. I checked with the management company and they said it was okay to park in the street (which few people do in that area). This worked well. We were a quick drive to all the delights of Cambria. The management company was excellent and helpful. I recommend this cottage and would stay again.

We spent a week at Capercaillie Cottage. It was clean and gave us the things we needed to enjoy our stay. While it is not as well appointed as many homes we have rented, it met our needs as a couple.
New fluffy towels and washcloths would be appreciated.

The cottage was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our two week stay. The neighborhood was very quiet which is what we was looking for. We enjoyed the ocean view from our deck and seeing the beautiful sunrise in the morning and lovely sunsets in the evenings. We loved hearing the ocean waves and the sea lions bellowing in the distance. The washing machine and dryer worked well as did the stove for cooking. The location of the cottage was convenient and only a short distance to the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve, Moonstone Beach, Hearst Castle and the Elephant Seals Sanctuary. We saw lots of deer grazing on the back lawn which was fun to watch and the cuisine in Cambria was excellent. The folks in town were very friendly and welcoming. We look forward to our next vacation to California and would rent from Breen Vacations again in the future. The only negative thing I can say about the property is the living room lamp seemed to have an intermittent connection that seemed to come on and off just by touching the lightbulb fixture so we chose to unplug the lamp and not use it due to fear it would catch fire. The curtains in the living room and downstairs bedroom are torn and the one of the shades in the living room was broken therefore we was unable to open it. Other than that, we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Thanks for sharing Capercallie Cottage with us. Valerie & Michael

We enjoyed where we stayed. The neighbors around us were quiet and friendly. You can hear the ocean waves at night from the back deck, and the nightly stargazing was phenomenal.

Nice home. Very clean. Not for those who have mobility issues. Driveway is very steeply angled and not easy to navigate with a manual transmission. Also, take driveway at an angle or you will bottoms out. Dining room seats and sofas are sagging and should be replaced. That being said I would gladly stay at this home again. Beds are comfortable and home is very clean.

The home was comfortable and spacious in a very quiet neighborhood, with plenty of deer as an extra attraction. The use of the garage was nice. Unfortunately, the washer was unavailable for use. Also unfortunate was the uncooperative weather, which limited the view of the sea from the house. Cambria is a nice town to visit, not far for those interested in seeing Hearst Castle. Property staff were very friendly and made checking in very easy.

Great location with panoramic ocean view. Quiet and clean. A basic house--nothing special about the furnishings or decor, but the location and price are right. 10 minute walk to the ocean and great hiking; a few miles drive to the East and West Villages and Moonstone Beach. The house is in the tree section in a forested section. Very steep driveway; kitchen, living room, and one bedroom are upstairs. People with mobility issues will not be comfortable in this house.

Everything portrayed in the online advertisement was as shown. We felt comfortable as soon as we arrived and settled in. The view from the top deck was especially wonderful affording a beautiful view of the sunsets as well as the visiting deer. A quiet, peaceful neighborhood. The home was well stocked with necessities and in great shape.

We have rented may units in Cambria and my wife and I felt this might be the most dissapointing home we have rented. Carpet is stained and dirty. window blinds were extreemly dirty. Sheets need to be replaced. Kitchen is not well equipped. Decorations are very dated.

This was the perfect vacation spot for relaxing and recharging our life batteries...The deck was located above a tree lined lot that was the deer hangout..with an ocean view through the pines..first afternoon we heard a cracking sound and went out on the deck and saw 6 deer in the lot below us and two juvenile bucks were clacking antlers whilst the doe and fawns were idling observers...very comfy furniture too .... we will be back to this unit we lived in Cambria for years and know all the great culinary experiences (Sea Chest Robins main street grill and the most excellent BBQ chicken the Lions club does at the Friday farmers market! )...Thank you for a marvelous experience.. Oh yes and we saw two foxes run through the area as well as wild turkeys and an amazing squirrel family living in the giant pine tree in the lot..

Nice home in a quiet, friendly neighborhood. Easy walk to the beach, but restaurants and shops require a short drive. The home is a little dated but the mattresses and linens are fine. Wear shoes on the deck because it is older and in need of replacing. Since the bedrooms are on different floors, this home would not be good for a family with young children. It would be perfect for two couples or for older children that want privacy. The kitchen and supplies are adequate.

We left our home for daughter and family to quarantine after driving back from Florida where they lived the past 9 months. Two weeks at the beach, nothing to do but what hubby and I wanted, and we could walk anytime of day and not deal with the heat.

This home is a great location for walking along the coast - 2 local preserves, roads with interesting homes, plus multiple other locations north near the elephant seals and south overlooking Cayucos Bay and further south to Montana de Oro.

Although it was only 2 of us, the house is a perfect setup for 4. The house had everything we wanted/needed, an easy partial view of the ocean, nice neighbors, and great beds. What more could we want?

We have been uber careful during this world pandemic but felt safe and comfortable in our home for 2 weeks. We did experience the smoke of fires from far north but that was true throughout California.

We chose this home rental because it was listed as having a king size bed. No king bed. Property management team gave us 1 night free for this. However, bed and living room furniture was SO uncomfortable both husband and I have had to go to chiropractor & massage therapist to get fixed from our vacation. Lastly, property managment markets this as "Luxury Vacation Rentals" yet ALL the dishes, pots & pan, silverware, furnishings, art on walls etc....was garage sale finds. Not a "home away from home" experience. View was nice but that's all I can say. Very disappointed.

What a great weekend of relax and disconnect in Cambria! I definitely recommend the cottage for a weekend trip to the south of Big South. The preparation of the trip was no hazel - the agents of Breen Vacation Station were always responsive and flexible to my requests. The cottage itself is in great condition and offers all aspects as described on the website. It was clean and prepared for my visit. It is located in a nice residential zone in the midst of trees. The sun deck is a perfect spot to eat and hang out. You can even see the ocean!

My neice and I had a lovely stay at Capercallie Cottage. The property was as described, clean, quiet and well maintained. The neighborhood is beautiful. The beds were excellent. The view from the upstairs deck, which is accesible from the living area or the upstairs bedroom, is amazing and we enjoyed being there. The downstairs bedroom has a deck too. The area is pretty hilly and the driveway is indeed steep. I checked with the management company and they said it was okay to park in the street (which few people do in that area). This worked well. We were a quick drive to all the delights of Cambria. The management company was excellent and helpful. I recommend this cottage and would stay again.

We spent a week at Capercaillie Cottage. It was clean and gave us the things we needed to enjoy our stay. While it is not as well appointed as many homes we have rented, it met our needs as a couple.
New fluffy towels and washcloths would be appreciated.

The cottage was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our two week stay. The neighborhood was very quiet which is what we was looking for. We enjoyed the ocean view from our deck and seeing the beautiful sunrise in the morning and lovely sunsets in the evenings. We loved hearing the ocean waves and the sea lions bellowing in the distance. The washing machine and dryer worked well as did the stove for cooking. The location of the cottage was convenient and only a short distance to the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve, Moonstone Beach, Hearst Castle and the Elephant Seals Sanctuary. We saw lots of deer grazing on the back lawn which was fun to watch and the cuisine in Cambria was excellent. The folks in town were very friendly and welcoming. We look forward to our next vacation to California and would rent from Breen Vacations again in the future. The only negative thing I can say about the property is the living room lamp seemed to have an intermittent connection that seemed to come on and off just by touching the lightbulb fixture so we chose to unplug the lamp and not use it due to fear it would catch fire. The curtains in the living room and downstairs bedroom are torn and the one of the shades in the living room was broken therefore we was unable to open it. This property has a lot of problems with it. It is unfortunate because this property, unlike others, is professionally managed.

The refrigerator was leaking throughout and we had to deal with a wet spot on the kitchen floor wiping it constantly. No handyman was sent and no resolution was provided. We had trouble with hot water downstairs. A plumber came but not until much later.


More generally though, we stay in many airbnb's and vrbo's and this one is significantly subpar compared to all others we have stayed at. First, the home is just dirty. This includes the floors, the surfaces and the windows including window frames. A number of dishes in the cupboards were dirty or greasy. The top shelf of the dishwasher is nearly broken. The trashcan is dirty inside. The kitchen utensils are very old, including pots and pans. Some of the towels were dirty and even had someone's hair on them (not ours). Some sheets had stains on them - it appears these items were not washed, or need to be replaced.

There was not an extra pillow nor an extra blanket anywhere in the house (we found one small, light extra blanket). It gets cold at night and we did not really want to cover ourselves or our children with the comforters that appeared not to have been washed in years. A house should have a couple of extra blankets and pillows stocked. The hangers in the closets are wire hangers from someone's dry cleaning - still with paper on them. There are small soap bars but not a body wash, nor shampoo provided.
As to the kitchen, providing something beyond salt and sugar, even if it's just a couple of spices or olive oil would go a long way. There are coffee filters but a pack of coffee and a gallon of water would be nice. This would set the owner back about $20 per stay out of the $400 per night rent but the guests would appreciate it.

The home was comfortable and spacious in a very quiet neighborhood, with plenty of deer as an extra attraction. The use of the garage was nice. Unfortunately, the washer was unavailable for use. Also unfortunate was the uncooperative weather, which limited the view of the sea from the house. Cambria is a nice town to visit, not far for those interested in seeing Hearst Castle. Property staff were very friendly and made checking in very easy.

Nice home. Very clean. Not for those who have mobility issues. Driveway is very steeply angled and not easy to navigate with a manual transmission. Also, take driveway at an angle or you will bottoms out. Dining room seats and sofas are sagging and should be replaced. That being said I would gladly stay at this home again. Beds are comfortable and home is very clean.

We enjoyed where we stayed. The neighbors around us were quiet and friendly. You can hear the ocean waves at night from the back deck, and the nightly stargazing was phenomenal.

We left our home for daughter and family to quarantine after driving back from Florida where they lived the past 9 months. Two weeks at the beach, nothing to do but what hubby and I wanted, and we could walk anytime of day and not deal with the heat.

This home is a great location for walking along the coast - 2 local preserves, roads with interesting homes, plus multiple other locations north near the elephant seals and south overlooking Cayucos Bay and further south to Montana de Oro.

Although it was only 2 of us, the house is a perfect setup for 4. The house had everything we wanted/needed, an easy partial view of the ocean, nice neighbors, and great beds. What more could we want?

We have been uber careful during this world pandemic but felt safe and comfortable in our home for 2 weeks. We did experience the smoke of fires from far north but that was true throughout California.

Nice home in a quiet, friendly neighborhood. Easy walk to the beach, but restaurants and shops require a short drive. The home is a little dated but the mattresses and linens are fine. Wear shoes on the deck because it is older and in need of replacing. Since the bedrooms are on different floors, this home would not be good for a family with young children. It would be perfect for two couples or for older children that want privacy. The kitchen and supplies are adequate.

The rental agency personnel were friendly and professional.

This was the perfect vacation spot for relaxing and recharging our life batteries...The deck was located above a tree lined lot that was the deer hangout..with an ocean view through the pines..first afternoon we heard a cracking sound and went out on the deck and saw 6 deer in the lot below us and two juvenile bucks were clacking antlers whilst the doe and fawns were idling observers...very comfy furniture too .... we will be back to this unit we lived in Cambria for years and know all the great culinary experiences (Sea Chest Robins main street grill and the most excellent BBQ chicken the Lions club does at the Friday farmers market! )...Thank you for a marvelous experience.. Oh yes and we saw two foxes run through the area as well as wild turkeys and an amazing squirrel family living in the giant pine tree in the lot..

We have rented may units in Cambria and my wife and I felt this might be the most dissapointing home we have rented. Carpet is stained and dirty. window blinds were extreemly dirty. Sheets need to be replaced. Kitchen is not well equipped. Decorations are very dated.

Everything portrayed in the online advertisement was as shown. We felt comfortable as soon as we arrived and settled in. The view from the top deck was especially wonderful affording a beautiful view of the sunsets as well as the visiting deer. A quiet, peaceful neighborhood. Great location with panoramic ocean view. Quiet and clean. A basic house--nothing special about the furnishings or decor, but the location and price are right. 10 minute walk to the ocean and great hiking; a few miles drive to the East and West Villages and Moonstone Beach. The house is in the tree section in a forested section. Very steep driveway; kitchen, living room, and one bedroom are upstairs. People with mobility issues will not be comfortable in this house.

What a great weekend of relax and disconnect in Cambria! I definitely recommend the cottage for a weekend trip to the south of Big South. The preparation of the trip was no hazel - the agents of Breen Vacation Station were always responsive and flexible to my requests. The cottage itself is in great condition and offers all aspects as described on the website. It was clean and prepared for my visit. It is located in a nice residential zone in the midst of trees. The sun deck is a perfect spot to eat and hang out. You can even see the ocean!

We chose this home rental because it was listed as having a king size bed. No king bed. Property management team gave us 1 night free for this. However, bed and living room furniture was SO uncomfortable both husband and I have had to go to chiropractor & massage therapist to get fixed from our vacation. Lastly, property managment markets this as "Luxury Vacation Rentals" yet ALL the dishes, pots & pan, silverware, furnishings, art on walls etc....was garage sale finds. Not a "home away from home" experience. View was nice but that's all I can say. Very disappointed.

it is a new experience to wake up to the sounds of crows and not your alarm clocks. But overall very nice cozy house in the woods with deers, wild turkey, crows and all creatures in the woods. Comfortable to stay in or to go out to beach or town.
